The Newville police were called to the "domestic incident involving a weapon" in the first block of South High Street on Feb. 18, 2023 at 3:44 p.m., according to the release.
Upon arrival, they discovered the boy "wielding a 4-5 inch pairing knife and pointing it in the direction of his parents and others present," as stated in the release.
The boy "followed commands to drop the knife and to lay on the ground where he was detained," the police said.
Witnesses later told the police that the boy had made threats against their lives say, "I'll cut them" or "I'll kill them." according to the release.
He was arrested at 3:54 p.m., Cumberland County Juvenile Probation was notified, and a new juvenile allegation was filed for terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, simple assault, possessing of instruments of crime, the police detailed in the release.
The boy's name and age were not shared. His previous juvenile offenses were not detailed.
